MORE ABOUT MY ROLE.

As well as being the member for Warren-Blackwood I also work on the following

Shadow Portfolios

  • Forestry

  • Aged Care

In these roles, I aim to bring a regional lens to state policy — advocating for a sustainable future for WA's timber industry and ensuring aged care in our communities is accessible, safe, and dignified.

Committees

  • Economics and Industry Committee

This role allows me to scrutinise legislation, question government decisions, and influence the policy areas that matter most to Western Australia.

HOW BEVAN CAN KEEP THE GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE.

When it comes to making government work for the people, accountability matters. As your representative, Bevan won’t just show up — he’ll speak up.

In Parliament, there are key tools Opposition MPs can use to hold the Government to account and push for real change. These tools aren’t about playing politics. They’re about getting answers, solving problems, and making sure your voice is heard.

Here’s how Bevan will use Parliament to fight for Warren–Blackwood:

  • Grievances – A formal way to raise local issues directly with Ministers. Think local hospital waitlists, dangerous roads, or aged care gaps — brought to the floor of Parliament.

  • Questions Without Notice – Fast, unscripted questions that demand real-time answers. No hiding behind paperwork — just straight-up accountability.

  • Questions On Notice – Written questions that get detailed, official answers. Useful when you want facts, not spin.

  • Petitions – Your chance to drive change from the ground up. If a community signs on, Bevan will take it to Parliament.

  • Motions & Disallowance Motions – Powerful tools to call out bad policy, block overreach, or push for better outcomes.

  • Private Members’ Business – Time set aside to raise big issues the Government won’t touch. Bevan will use it to put community concerns front and centre.

These aren’t just parliamentary processes. They’re tools to get things done — and Bevan will use them with one goal in mind: community first, common sense always.
