Youth Emergency Service Cadets

The Emergency Services Cadets program gives young people across Western Australia the chance to step into the world of fire, rescue, and emergency response — no boots required (yet). Open to high school students, the program is a hands-on way to learn real skills in leadership, teamwork, first aid, and community safety.

Cadets train alongside emergency service volunteers, take part in community events, and learn what it takes to help others in times of need. It’s a great pathway if you’re interested in a future career in emergency services — or just want to be someone others can count on.

Visit dfes.vol.org.au to find a Cadet Unit near you and get involved.
