Since Easter

A social series on what Bevan has been doing in Parliament for Warren-Blackwood, closing on a gift to the community: the new electorate guide.
Proposal for reviewPrepared for: Vishmi & BevanFormat: 9 Instagram / Facebook carousels28 July 2026
The idea

What I’ve been doing for you

One clear run of posts that walks the electorate through everything Bevan has raised since Easter, in plain language, parliament-led. Each post takes one theme, lays out what he asked and what he got back, and closes on a specific, reasonable ask. The series builds to a payoff: everything is now in one place, and there is a brand-new Warren-Blackwood electorate guide to give the community.

The engine is the record itself. Every figure on every tile traces to Hansard, Estimates or a lodged question, already published on the wall. Nothing is invented, and nothing runs hot: sourced fact does its own work.

The shape

Open on the scale of the work, walk the threads strongest-first, then land on the electorate guide as the gift. Two are built and rendered below; the other seven are planned to the same sourced standard.

Opener built
Since Easter: the scale, the through-line, a tease to the payoff.
02
Aged care built
His shadow portfolio and the anchor of the whole series.
03
Cost of living & fuel planned
Fuel hits the regions hardest, and half of them were flying blind.
04
The budget & a fair share planned
We generate the wealth, then go cap in hand.
05
Forestry planned
The sandalwood cliff, the burns, the assessments.
06
Local producers planned
The container scheme and standing up for WA wine.
07
Schools planned
Built for 650, now teaching 1,200.
08
Also on the record planned
Biosecurity, the missing refuge, the long drives.
09
The electorate guide planned
The gift to the community, and the new site.
How it looks & reads

Brand & format

Bevan’s own social brand: a warm Social Cream ground, Rivergum ink, and gold used only as an accent, never at headline scale or as a background. Display type is Staatliches, body is Urbanist. Each carousel alternates grounds so the slides feel like one set.

Tile format
1080 × 1350 (Instagram portrait), swipeable carousel.
Two registers
Accountability (a sourced claim-vs-record gap that closes on a demand) and connection (warm, plain, for the opener and the guide).
Every carousel closes
on a “Raise it with Bevan” tile pointing to the record and the guide.
House rules
No em-dashes. No hype adjectives. Never attack a person, only the gap. Every figure sourced.
Authorisation
Each closing tile carries the electoral authorisation line (to be confirmed before publishing).
01

Opener — “Since Easter”

Connection register

Sets the scale and the through-line, and teases the payoff. Warm and plain, no forced contrast. Five tiles.

Note: the count is deliberately kept soft (no hard “40 contributions” claim) so nothing unverifiable ships. A proper by-the-numbers tile can be added on figures we can stand behind.
02

Aged care

Accountability register

His shadow portfolio, and the anchor of the series. The full arc: the gap, the government’s own numbers, the metro tilt, then the ask. Six tiles.

Sourcing: 366 stuck statewide with no regional count (Estimates, 21 May) · 1,600–2,700 beds and up to 1,900 carers per 1,000 beds, the government’s own figures (Hansard, 10 Jun) · four new coordinators all metro (Estimates, 21 May) · carers on the road (Hansard, 14 Apr). Ask: count the regions, and build and staff the beds where older people live.
The rest of the run

Posts 3–9, planned

Each planned to the same standard as the two built: a sourced hook, one beat per tile, and a specific ask. Ready to draft and render on the nod.

03
Cost of living & fuel
Accountability

“In the city, fuel is a background cost. Here, it decides the day.”

The beats, each its own tile
  • Fuel security is food security. In the regions, people already travel two to four hours, and every price rise lands hardest here.Motion · 14 Apr 2026
  • FuelWatch covered every metro outlet but only about 80% of regional sites, leaving roughly one in five regional retailers off the scheme, and locals flying blind on price.Fuel, Energy & Power Resources Bill · 5 May 2026
  • Covered locally: “Bowser fuels gridlock fears.”South Western Times · 14 May 2026

The ask: Full fuel-price transparency for every regional town, and cost-of-living relief that recognises distance.

04
The budget & a fair share
Accountability

“We generate the wealth. Then we go cap in hand.”

The beats, each its own tile
  • $220 billion in resources sales and $10.8 billion in mining royalties last year, much of it generated in the regions. The lithium powering the global EV shift comes from Greenbushes.Budget reply · 12 May 2026
  • More than $564 million committed statewide for family and domestic violence refuges since 2017, and not one cent for a refuge in Warren-Blackwood. 160 days on from the first grievance, nothing on the ground had changed.Grievance · 14 May 2026
  • $113.5 million for Main Roads maintenance statewide, and not one of our roads named, including the South Western Highway between Manjimup and Walpole, repeatedly rated among WA’s most dangerous.Budget speech · 13 May 2026
  • “I read both volumes of Budget Paper No 2 looking for the names of my towns.” Denmark, Margaret River, Bridgetown and Boyup Brook were almost invisible.Budget reply · 13 May 2026

The ask: Name the towns, fund the projects, and deliver them.

05
Forestry & the forest floor
Accountability

“The sandalwood cliff is coming, and there’s no plan for the pullers.”

The beats, each its own tile
  • The wild sandalwood order-in-council expires on 31 December 2026, with no finalised replacement and no clear support settled for pullers, processors and traditional owners.Estimates · 21 May 2026
  • Only 55% of planned priority-one prescribed burns were achieved. Is that a staffing problem or a funding one? Prescribed burning is what keeps South West communities safe.Estimates · 20 May 2026
  • On behalf of the Augusta community: the Scott River wind farm process lists 26 threatened species with no full assessment. Not for or against the project, but about getting the process right.Member statement · 7 May 2026

The ask: A real transition plan for sandalwood, and honest reporting on the burns that keep us safe.

06
Standing up for local producers
Campaign

“Don’t make WA wine the next casualty of a scheme it didn’t design.”

The beats, each its own tile
  • The wine industry supports the regional families, workers and small businesses from Margaret River and Pemberton to the Blackwood Valley and the Great Southern. Producers were given too little time to align with the container scheme.Member statement · 11 Jun 2026
  • A full block of written questions lodged on 9 June on the scheme’s cost, the liability it puts on producers, and who was actually consulted.Questions on Notice · 9 Jun 2026
  • “Don’t make WA wine the next casualty of rising costs” and “WA wine producers support recycling, but let’s do it properly.” Covered across the regional press.Media releases · 2 & 4 Jun 2026

The ask: Pause wine and spirits, and align WA with the national timetable instead of forcing local producers to go first.

07
Schools & keeping kids close to home
Accountability

“Built for 650. Now teaching more than 1,200.”

The beats, each its own tile
  • Margaret River Senior High School was built for around 650 students and now teaches more than 1,200, with every room in use and specialised learning areas pushed into transportables, still waiting past Stage 2.Public Education Endowment Repeal Bill · 11 Jun 2026
  • Hundreds of millions can be found for racetracks and major events. Regional classrooms wait. It comes down to priorities.Bill · 11 Jun 2026
  • Collie is the only South West TAFE infrastructure project named in the budget. What funded pathway exists for the rest of the region?Estimates · 19 May 2026

The ask: Fund the Stage 2 build, and keep young people close to home.

08
Also on the record
Montage

“A fast sweep of everything else, so nothing gets left behind.”

The beats, each its own tile
  • WA is one of the last major varroa-free places in the country. Unlike the shot-hole borer, this is a threat we can still keep out.Motion · 17 Jun 2026
  • Over $40 million for one metropolitan refuge ($18.1m Stirling redevelopment plus $22.6m Stirling Women’s Centre), and nothing here.Question without notice · 6 May 2026
  • The richest state, the longest drives: a Manjimup to Bunbury trip of around 150 kilometres just to reach care.Motion · 10 Jun 2026
  • A $17,000 bill just to close a local road for a community festival.Motion · 13 May 2026

The ask: Whatever it is, if it matters to our part of the world, I’ll raise it.

09
The electorate guide + the new site
Connection (the gift)

“Something new for Warren-Blackwood: your own electorate guide.”

The beats, each its own tile
  • The Warren-Blackwood Electorate Guide: find your local services, grants and events, your member, and where to turn. electorate.bevaneatts.com.auThe gift, led first
  • And everything you’ve just seen is now in one place. The full record: every question asked, and every answer I got. bevaneatts.com.auThe record
  • Most of all, it’s a way to bring me yours. Raise a local issue any time.Raise it with Bevan

The ask: Explore your guide, see the record, and raise what matters to you.

Trust the record

Sourcing & method

Every claim on every tile is drawn from Bevan’s published parliamentary record, Hansard, Estimates transcripts, and lodged Questions on Notice, already live on the wall at bevaneatts.com.au. Before anything ships, each post clears three gates: an accuracy check (every figure and date traces to a specific card), the voice doctrine (plain, sourced, closes on a demand, no em-dashes, no hype), and a design check (Bevan’s brand only, gold as accent, the two locked faces). The result is content the office can stand behind line by line.

Before we publish

Decisions we need

Authorisation line

These are electoral posts, so every closing tile needs “Authorised by [name], [address]”. Currently a flagged placeholder. We need the exact wording.

The opener count

Do we want a by-the-numbers tile on the opener? If so, we’ll build it only on figures we can defend.

Cadence

Nine carousels is a 3–4 week run at a few posts a week. Confirm the order and pace, and whether the guide launch is date-locked.
